How to Cheat in GeoGuessr: Step-by-Step Guide
GeoGuessr drops you somewhere in the world and asks you to find it on the map. GeoGPT is a Chrome extension that shows you where the round actually is — coordinates, street, city and country — and can place the pin for you. This guide walks you through the setup and every feature, from a perfect 5,000-point guess to scores that look natural.
What you need
- Google Chrome on a desktop computer
- The free GeoGPT extension from the Chrome Web Store
- A free GeoGPT account (sign-in with your email, no card required)
Step 1: Install GeoGPT and pin it
Open GeoGPT in the Chrome Web Store and click “Add to Chrome”. Then click the puzzle icon in your toolbar and pin GeoGPT, so the popup is always one click away.
Step 2: Sign in with your email
Click the GeoGPT icon and choose “Sign in / Create account”. A login page opens: enter your email, type in the one-time code we send you and pick a username. The extension picks up your session automatically — no password to remember.
Step 3: Start a GeoGuessr round
Open GeoGuessr and start a game. As soon as the Street View location loads, the GeoGPT panel shows:
- the place as “street, city, country”
- the exact latitude and longitude
- a small map preview of the spot
Step 4: Place your pin
With Auto Place Pin (on by default), GeoGPT drops the pin on the guess map for you as soon as the location is found. You can also press “Pin on map” in the panel yourself. GeoGPT only places the pin — you still click “Guess” in GeoGuessr, so you stay in control of every round.
Make your scores look natural: Range Mode
A perfect 5,000 every single round stands out. Range Mode lets you choose a score band instead — for example 3,000 to 4,500 points — and GeoGPT offsets the pin so the round lands inside that band. Set the band with the slider in the extension settings (0 to 5,000 points in steps of 50). Range Mode is available on the free plan.
Smart Zoom and Incognito (Pro)
Smart Zoom moves and zooms the guess map in a few natural-looking steps before the pin drops, instead of jumping straight to the answer. It works on GeoGuessr.
Incognito hides the GeoGPT panel completely. You can still see where you are with a small “City · Country” hint at the bottom of the screen, or in a separate hint window you can drag to a second monitor.
Free vs. Pro
The free Starter plan includes 3 guesses per week with exact coordinates, Auto Place Pin and Range Mode. A guess counts when the location of a round is shown. Pro removes the limit and adds Smart Zoom and Incognito — see pricing for current prices.
FAQ
Does GeoGPT submit my guess automatically?
No. GeoGPT places the pin on the map, but you click “Guess” yourself.
How many free guesses do I get?
3 per week on the free plan. The counter resets every week (Monday, UTC). Pro is unlimited.
Does it work on OpenGuessr too?
Yes. See the OpenGuessr hack guide for the differences.
Can I get a score other than 5,000?
Yes — turn on Range Mode and pick the score band you want. GeoGPT offsets the pin so the round lands inside it.
